The EAC Men’s Volleyball Team is back on the winning track after piercing through the Letran Knights in straight sets, 25-21, 28-26, 25-16.
Emerging from a setback against the CSB Blazers, the Generals took this gut-wrenching loss as an opportunity to reflect on their mindset and recalibrate their tactics as they head into the latter part of the season. Aiming to get back on the winning track, team captain Jan Ruther Abor mentioned that a shift in their energy plays a crucial role in their remaining matches, “Gusto ko makita yung bagong aura… naka-reset, naka-refocus.”
Coming in hot on the first set against Letran, anchored on their steady passes and well-placed serves, the EAC made quick work and secured the first frame. Despite the Knights maintaining a lead on the second canto, the Generals retuned their playstyles and persevered toward the end.
“Hangga’t hindi natatapos yung set, walang sisimangot, walang titigil, walang hihinto kasi marami pang pwedeng mangyari… saksi yung game na ‘to,” Abor said postgame. “Tsaka kung may gustong manalo, samahan lang lagi natin.”
Jan Ruther Abor steered the ship for the Generals with an impressive 19 markers off 15 attacks and 4 blocks. Frelwin Taculog and Michael Gela worked hand-in-hand with their 14 and 13 points, respectively.
After Letran outscored them in their first-round encounter, the Generals wanted nothing but to turn the tide in their favor. Abor feels ecstatic after their redemption, “Kaming lahat may gustong patunayan, napakasaya sa puso na manalo at makabawi.”
