San Sebastian College–Recoletos (SSC-R) joined the NCAA Philippines in 1969. The Golden Stags quickly rose to prominence, highlighted by their historic five-peat basketball championship from 1993 to 1997. Their juniors’ team, the Staglets, and other varsity squads in volleyball and athletics have also been strong contenders. Over the years, SSC-R has built a reputation as one of the NCAA’s powerhouse schools, known for its resilience, championship tradition, and intense rivalries—especially in basketball.
